Professor Peter Wächtler

Peter Wächtler (born YEAR, PLACE) is a visual artist and professor at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts' School of painting and pictorial practices.

Peter Wächtler works with a wide range of image-based practices ranging from painting to drawing, video and sculpture. In his artistic projects, he combines different techniques and media in inclusive and generous works that often exude equal parts seriousness, sincerity and humour.

Wächtler has exhibited widely internationally at Kunsthalle Zürich, Wiels in Brussels, Renaissance Society Chicago, Bergen Kunsthall, Chisenhale Gallery in London, among others. 

Wächtler has teaching experience as a visiting professor of painting and drawing at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Dresden and he has also lectured, taught and conducted workshops at art programmes in Germany, the USA and Denmark.
